Flow Cytometry - Flourescent Dyes & Conjugation Kits

The exciting laser light has a well-defined wavelength of excitation. The development of fluorochromes has been aimed at matching those laser lines. Rapid progress now gives us a wide range of products to select from.

Many, even most, primary antibodies are available as ready-conjugated to any of many available fluorochromes. When such an option is not available, the conjugation process can be easily performed in-house with most of the fluorochrome options, using kit-format products.

Conjugated antibodies may be the most frequently used application in FC, but many additional staining dyes can be employed, to stain for e.g. DNA content, RNA content, mitochondria, reticulocytes, calcium level, pH, membrane potential, etc.
